Remote start and 10 minutes idling with the defrost cranked sounds a lot easier.

    What about the side windows?
I just scrape those, they're easy.

Keep up with the times man.

Idling your car to warm it up will fucking destroy the engine and all of humanity

I will say this idea is WAY smarter than the people I see every year putting their wipers up.

Ya know what’s preferable to taking 2 seconds to loosen up a frozen wiper? A wiper that won’t hug your windshield because you’ve constantly stretched out the spring to save those two seconds....

Another person I have heard say this with no tangible proof from anyone.

I seriously doubt that spring is being permanently deformed by leaving the wipers up.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Not deformed but you’re going to accelerate the metal fatigue over time. There are tons of discussion on firearm magazines and spring fatigue/creep.

A spring under tension wears faster than an unloaded spring.

Now the question of does it matter if you only own your car for a few years? Probably not.

Still whenever I see this I laugh, it saves you no time

No, but it saves me from trying to dig out the wipers from under 2" of snow before I start scraping.

The covers/bedsheet whatever you plan to use will work. It can be a hassle to remove it and store if its wet, otherwise shake it off and go.

If I didn't park in the garage I would use it for sure and have in the past.

It gets the wiper out of the snow and ice so you don't wreck them trying to dig them out.

I am sure those windshield covers do their job but I still wouldn't get them as the only time my vehicle is outside for an extended time is at work and the cover would probably get stolen the first time I use it at work.

    Just saw one in action.

Seems the theory of more moisture and ice is proven. She got way thicker ice to scrap than the guy next to her without one.

My neighbor has been using a towel for the past 5 years and now just got one of these blankets. Seems to work for them but it looks ridiculous. I've never had a problem with starting my car for 15 minutes and letting the heat take care of it.
