    Default Traveling to YellowKnife

Thought I'd ask if anyone has any recommendations as to what to do in Yellowknife. Travelling end of December, of course, the Northern Lights tour and we were also thinking of Dog Sledding.
Any tips on Activities, Food places etc.?

NWT brewing company, bullocks for some famous fish and chips, and the explorer hotel have good food..head down to old town and check out pilots monument, weaver and devore, walk on the ice to see some of the houseboats..the legislature and prince of wales museum is good way to kill a few hours and learn the history of yellowknife..if you have a car you can take a drive up the ingraham trail and see some of the mining history or take the ice road to dettah(nothing to see in dettah, just fun to drive the road)..if your into aviation you can stop at the buffalo airways hangar and see their fleet of ww2 aircraft

I grew up there, lots of cool old mining shit. They used to give underground tours of Giant and Con, both are shut down now and Con is caved in I believe but all the buildings and machinery are there deteriorating. Buffalo's hangar and the old town float base are cool if you like aviation. Could always go to Harleys and get a 5/10 to rub her titties in your face.

I spent a few years living there as a kid too. I just looked at Google maps and am amazed my old haunts are virtually unchanged, lol. 30 years later and absolutely nothing has been built around my neighborhood. I guess because of all the rock.

Edit: If you lost a GT Snow racer right around here, thank you for it!

Thanks for the replies guys! We actually booked our Bed and Breakfast at the Floating B&B by old town, heard it was the best place to look at the Northern Lights, so we killed 2 birds with one stone there. We are going to check out that Bullocks place for sure.
we also will be renting a car so we can drive around as well. Any cool Hiking spots or Hidden gems that we should check out? Thanks for all the feedback guys. Oh, by the way, were only there for 4 nights so our time is limited a small trip to get out of the city
