Default What's your favorite Vegas hotel (on the strip)?

Reading the "which supercar" thread has me thinking of doing my 40th bday in Vegas. Have only been once and we stayed at a friends time-share. It was a nice place but off the strip and a bit annoying because of it.

Suggestions? Which one is your fav and why?

I always like Venetian/Plazzo, stayed there a few times. I hear Aria and Wynn are pretty high-end and good too. Next time, I will check out Aria. Went to a concert there and it was freaking amazing inside.

Aria is pretty damn nice, Cosmo I would say sits right with it from experience. I also loved the Venetian as well. Ceasers/Mirage are meh.

Aria is more upscale all around, the buffet is the best i've had so far, pool etc is awesome. It is quite central on the strip. Tons of great viewing of talent going to/from the club.
Venetian I preferred more for gambling, if you'd like to find tables that aren't all 25/50$ min during the nights this helps, that or Palazzo. And if you're in the mood to gamble cheaper PH is relatively close for either. Or Flamingo if you really want a dump haha.

Have only ever stayed at the Bellagio. Go to Vegas once a year, usually in April/May and have been treated well there, we like it, so never think to try anywhere else.

Mirage has been my favourite personally, followed by the Aria.

Vdara. No casino either so it’s smoke free.

LOVE Vdara. Only problem is it's not really on the strip and requires a pretty decent hike to get from the Bellagio to Vdara. On the other hand, Aria is easy to get to.

Personally, I like the Flamingo. It's pretty cheap and it's centrally located on the strip with Caesar's, Bellagio and Paris all within reasonable (for Vegas) distance. The rooms can be hit or miss, mind you a miss wouldn't be a deal-breaker, just that I've had nicer rooms.

The only place I wouldn't recommend is Imperial Palace, but I don't think it's even there anymore.

The Wynn for sure. The location isn't the greatest as it's at the end of the strip, but it's has the best quality of rooms/service and venues IMO.

Always felt like the COSMO was for the wannabe playboys.

Not sure what you are talking about you can walk into Bellagio from Vdara theres a walkway from Vdara to the tram and it continues onto Bellagio. We just stayed at Vdara and it was great. If you want to go there first though make sure you sign up for mlife and then call mgmresorts to get the best deal - we shaved $100 USD per night off our room at Vdara.

It's connected, but it's still a bit of a hike by the time you walk through the conservatory, past the spa, past the tram station and through the connecting overpass. It's not bad at the beginning of a day, but it can daunting at the end of the night when you're drunk/exhausted and just want to get to your room.

I have stayed at almost every hotel on the strip and I have to stay The Cosmo is probably my favourite. The location / size of room / comfort of bed and having a balcony with a view was great. There are also some good eats/shopping.

Venetian/Palazzo/Bellagio/Caesars/Nobu are all great but i think they're a tad overrated/overpriced (save for the buffet Bacchanal at Caesars). Even more so now with the weak Canadian dollar.

Wynn was also great but the location is a bit north for me. Encore is practically the same thing; seems like it's close to the Wynn but it's a bit further north so also far. Depends on what you want to do or have planned.

I also like staying at PH because of the value / location - the room is decent (if you get a renovated). I spent a lot of time at the casino at the Cromwell last time and have thought about staying there the next trip.

Price normally dictates where I stay.

Usually try for PH assuming its decently priced. Location is good and lots of close cheaper food options for breakfast/lunch.

Also Flamingo is good for pool season if you're staying on a budget (its usually priced on the lower end as well).

Usually don't care, as long as it's decent and near center of strip.

I like Aria if it's not my dime. PH if it is. Never tried the renovated one like Linq (old imperial place) or Cromewell or SLS. Anything north of Wynn is too far for me.

I rarely stay in hotel room or use their facilities anyway every time I am at Vegas. Just a nice bed to crash for 8hrs and that's good enough.

Didn't want to start my own thread but could use a little help. Group of 4(2 couples) of us are planning on going down to Vegas, leaving Feb 15th coming back the 18th. I'm the only one that's been there before but I haven't been in at least 5+ years.

I'd prefer to stay central strip. The group wants to stay around $1000 for flights & hotel.

I've starting peaking around on Expedia, anywhere else I should be looking?

    Thanks in advance!

+1 on Aria, not usually that hard to find deals there.

Probably been to Vegas >25 times and echo alot of you guys' comments. I don't have an overwhelming favorite as each hotel has it's own Pros and Cons, so it depends on the purpose of the trip.

    Shopping:
Mirage is my favorite for shopping. It's a cheap cab ride to the good outlet mall ($10 w/ Uber), 2 min walk to the Forum, 5-7 min walk to Fashion show mall. It's also a 5 min cab ride to China town for stuff like The Boiling Crab. Downside is the rooms are dated, the buffet is terrible, and the poker room sucks.

    Poker/Gambling:
ARIA has my fav poker room, and the table games are nice too. The rooms are good size and the buffet is pretty decent. Downside is that it's a 5-7 min walk just to the strip, and the table games have a higher minimum vs your Mirage/pH/Paris. No cheap eats around. So-so night club.

    Food:
I've personally never stayed at Cosmo but I've ate there lots. I think if I were to ever plan a trip around eating I would try to stay at the Cosmo.

    Party:
pH is the way to go for partying. Center of strip and lots of cheap drinking place. Miracle Miles has a ton of restaurants with happy hour drink specials (all you can drink??) and even convenient stores with cheap beers. It's so easy to get drunk on a budget there. Downside is the rooms are so-so and the crowd is super rowdy.

    Comfort:
I LOVE the room at the Encore. Had some of my best sleeps there. But it's so far from everything and $$$$.

+1 for Aria, the room automation and ordering from their iPad is cool. It is a bit further of a walk than say PH or Bellagio. If staying at PH, get their panorama suite! It's huge and awesome view of the strip!

Anything you do on the strip is going to cost a lot! Whether it's eating, drinking, partying or shows!

For the $1000, is that per person or per couple or group? If it's per person, then you can definitely have very good accommodations! If it's for the group, then it's definitely circus circus or Flamingo!

Expedia and WestJet vacations are probably the best places to look.
