Default Time for a new kodi box

I am looking for a new kodi box with all the newest software/features. Looking on amazon it's really hard to tell what is good and what to avoid, so here I am looking for recommendations . Who can recommend some different kodi boxes, preferably off amazon?

You won't find anything so build it yourself. Kodi boxes are a 3rd parties way of making money off a open source platform.

Raspberry Pi isn't a great device for playback, audio or other means. You'd be better off using a NUC.

Nvidia Shield is good for Kodi... kind of pricey though if you don't use the other features. around $200 i think on amazon

The Shield will outperform all the other Android boxes out there, combined.

Cant beat the shield, but it is on the more expensive side (currently on sale 30$ off at $200)

Depends on what your needs are. I've had no complaints running Kodi on mine.

As already mentioned, Shield TV no question. The only knock on it is it's price. Everything else is better any other box you are going to find by miles.

I agree with the shield if you want to spend that much. Otherwise I would get the FireTV stick which is now available in Canada.

The Nvidia Shield is down to only $199 with a remote (No game controller though). That is a no-brainer if you need a new media box, it used to be $280.

Am I doing myself a great disservice by running Kodi on my Nexus Player? Seems to work okay for my needs.

What add-ons are everybody using these days?

I don't think so. Nexus player is a great device. I wish google hadn't discontinued it.

I recently redid a kodi box on an Intel NUC. So far, no complaints here. Depends on the level of DIY you want to do though. If you want as little setup to do as possible, the Shield would probably be your best bet.
