Default Snow Removal Scammer - Yard Man Fix - Regan Reaney

Unfortunately someone in my family fell victim to a snow removal scam. And yes, I really wish they had done a bit more due diligence to prevent this. I know many will google and immediately see those scammer reviews, please note that those are all within the last 2 weeks. The contract was signed and 2 months paid prior to all those being up. The main way would have been googling his name off the BBB file which was the only one that displayed his entire name. It doesn't take long to realize this guy is just a garbage human being after a quick search.

Currently it shows his details as:
    Regan Reaney
    403-606-5541
    5198 80 Ave SE T2C 2X3 (i'm assuming this is a fake business address)
google maps shows something on Maitland Hill NE (Marlborough?) but I don't know if that was done by him or people who reviewed on google to complain?

I'm surprised how you can't report most businesses on websites to try and protect people (YP/Yelp etc). For example Yelp currently puts him in the "top 10 snow removal" companies in Calgary on the page that showed up on google.
Sadly is was an e-transfer so not much can be done about the payment. But would like to warn people about him as it is a shame that so many cons are around. Otherwise it doesn't appear that we can do much about it.

And with that being said, if someone can vouch for a reputable snow removal company (residential) that does work in the Aspen area I would be appreciative if you could pass a contact along.

Why would someone pre-pay for snow removal? Did he need money for a shovel before he could come do the work?

Actually why would any one pre-pay for anything when dealing with contractors? If they can't float their business I'm not hiring them.

Well, contractors will usually take a part of the estimate for some of the bigger jobs..... eg 50% now and 50% upon completion.

Nope, I stated two different ones listed.

    https://www.yellowpages.ca/bus/Alber...101794271.html (the SE one)

and if you google "Yard Man Fix", the image in the capture on the top right corner shows the Marlborough NE.

Also now MR2 has pointed out another business in templehill. As to if any of these are his real/current address... no clue...

On the pre-paid comment, I don't know how typical snow removal contracts work. In my past with contractors of other natures I have had a mixture of some pay up front, staged %, or 30/60/90 day invoice. Depends on the business and the company. If you're running a small residential snow removal company floating a month of wages for workers might be tough, who knows. I didn't do the research, nor was I apart of it until it was clear this scum wasn't showing up.
It isn't a crazy amount of money but any more attention on this guys name that can help prevent him from scamming others is worth a try.

My parents spend a few months at their house in the states every year, and they pay for snow removal at their Calgary house. Every fall, they give the company post dated checks (monthly) for a guaranteed base fee, and if we get an exceptional amount of snow in a given month (snow removal required over X number of times), I believe they pay additional charges.

I can see smaller companies wanting at least some prepayment.

With how a lot of people are about paying simple things like credit card bills and phone bills on time if I were a small operation I’d want some gauruntee I got paid for at least some of the work (and on time). Especially considering there are a lot of morons that don’t even take bills that affect their credit from companies that do have the resources to come after them seriously.

I also know many who sign a contract to do snow removal for the whole winter. Not on a per job basis.
This guy's a scammer so he'll always find a way to grab a few dollars here or there.

Does spacerz do snow removal? Fellow Beyonder.
