You can cast from any google chrome tab, and VLC 3.0 allows for casting to the Shield as well. Might be your best bet. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It seems like lots of the apps for android don't work on the shield. I can't even get google chrome. I'll try the vlc cast from my pc thenThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
A $30 antenna beats the picture and sound quality of cable tv or satellite for local channels like CBC.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It isn't designed to run every app and it doesn't run the same OS as your phone. The app store on the Shield should only be showing you apps that have been optimized for Android TV if I am not mistaken. It was never intended to have the same usability as an Android phone or tablet. Web browsing sucks on that style of platform anyway, it's much faster to pull out your phone or tablet. It's heavily geared toward media consumption and the apps like Plex, Netflix, Twitch, Amazon Prime Video, Kodi, Google Play Music, etc. are extremely polished for it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I did that for years while I was downtown, but it doesn't work where we live currently, even with a booster on it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That’s surprising. I get 90% signal in Cochrane with a powered antenna and my family in Airdrie is close to that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm in South Calgary now and nothing I do will even get a hint of a signal on the TV, just pure snow. Tried all the windows, and nothing works. Haven't tried it outside but I can't put it out there. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yeah, I haven't got it to work for a while either. I use Sports Devil for all my viewing. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I have no "green" channels meaning pretty much no indoor antenna will get me anything.
I've got 6 green, so maybe it's just where we are in the house but even if I hold a boosted antenna up to the window it doesn't get a hint of reception. Exact same antenna I was using downtown with perfect success. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
For sports I am finding the easiest thing is to just get a reddit stream and then cast it to the TV. Quality is great and you have access to pretty much every sport.

This is a good list to try
Anyone tried Neptune Rising?
I have been using it for a while and it seems to work really well. I use about 6 Addons and each one serves a purpose for the content I want. There is a few with great 4K content popping up recently as well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I used it twice now because covenant and genesis reborn weren't working properly. It was great. Who knows for how long though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So I tried a movie on NR and it wouldn't even try to play. Tried on covenant and had 0 issues. Then I just tried to watch a TV show on NR and covenant and it wouldn't work, but genesis reborn worked.
Really annoying having to switch between all 3 to watch something. But I feel like it's the price you pay for watching free shit.
I honestly have not run into the movie or show won’t play issue in about the last 3 years. I use an Apple TV running kodi 17.6 with a few scripts I added to get frame rate and HDR matching but nothing else out of the ordinary. It could be that you have older sources that haven’t been keeping up with new scrapers
