It’s a little notchy... but I wouldn’t say it sucks at all
I owned both for a period of time, yes it is pretty notchy and the OEM pedal was garbage. Swapped in a UCP and it was night and day difference. Still though I enjoyed the DCT a hell of a lot more. Felt like it fit the engine so much better, kinda like the SMG fits the E60 M5.

Not quite, I’ve been searching for a second car (summer car) for a while but haven’t really found anything that gives me the warm fuzzies (mostly because of prices) but now I’m like “meh life is too short, if it costs a couple grand more than you want to pay it’s not gonna end the world”

I’m actually driving around looking at cars today :\

No Kidding, I wish I didn't click in. We need a "nofap" for car addicts.

I don't do the sedan thing, but a manual S5 would be pretty wicked. Can you get a 6mt coupe non vert?

You can, but it's rare. Buddy of mine bought a white S5 in 6MT non-vert but sniped on it the moment it showed up.

    Cool... S5 6-6
You can get one in the B8/8.5 model year, they got rid of it for the B9. I miss that S5.

I didn't enjoy bmw's 7 speed DCT. It was impressive for fast shifts and response... but then it also stalled out randomly, and grenaded itself at 22000km. The ZF 8HP auto in my 3 series is trouble free, and i feels like it shifts just as quick as the DCT i had, but I would never call it fun. If I was to get a M car, i'd want a true manual even though its slower.

Full coverage for purchase price... or if you get an appraisal done, that amount... super cheap, Datsun was like $40/year

Don’t ball if you can’t ball!

Rule of thumb for me is to only spend 10% of my cash on guilty pleasures. So if I have $100,000 in the bank I’m only spending $10k on cars/holidays/toys/etc.

^Good rule, but if you can score a deal and pickup something nice at under market value, you can't really get screwed provided the market doesn't completely dive.

Why don't you guys just buy a accord V6+6? Those things are drag monsters. Probably smoke that Vette from a roll. S4/S5? Nah Vtec will take care of that.

Sure, but even breaking even or close to it would be fine with me. Realistically, unless it's an air cooled Porsche or the like you're not going to see a profit.

For sure, and everyone’s goal to grow wealth is different. I rely on my investments as a source of income, so I need to keep good capital in order to grow my wealth. If I was single with no intention of having children in the near future, that figure would probably look more like 70% pleasure and 30% growing wealth lol.

I've heard of very few DCT failures even at higher power levels. I was not impressed with the manual in the E90 at all.
