Default Wheel gurus, will it fit? 225/50/18 on 9.5" wide rim?

Hey guys, just looking for some insight. Will a 225/50/18 tire fit onto a 9.5" wide rim safely? Or without looking stupid lol

I've got some good tires that I need to mount on some rims that I could get from a family member for a good price, so just wanna know if my tires will still work on em.

    Thanks!

It is definitely outside of the tire manufacturers acceptable limits. Can you do it? I am sure it can be stretched, but for winter it is definitely not something I would advise you to do.

50 profile is pretty tall... no one has even uploaded that size to this site... but here is a 40 profile, your 50 will be less aggressive than this:

Since sidewall is a percentage of width... i’d Say even though this is a 16 the stretch will be very similar:

Thanks for the input guys! Probably won't do it then. It's for the wife's X1. Don't want to compromise safety to save a few bucks!
