    Default Cellphone Booster

The in-laws want a cell phone booster for their farm in Saskatchewan. Having never needed a cell phone booster, I have no idea what to look for.

Anyone personally use a cell phone booster? or can recommend one?

Old thread on cell phone boosters. Curious to hear what people are using for their house?

Quick search online shows boosters from $200 to $500 on Amazon.

Prefer a nicer choice but not sure which manufacturers to consider.

Wilson is still the main name, they market home stuff under the WeBoost brand. Pretty uncommon that people worry about it. Most more concerned with wifi.

Size, quality and placement of outdoor antenna is the most important thing. If that antenna doesn't get signal it has nothing to amplify.

I would check to see if the "wifi calling" option is enabled in the phone before spending money on a booster. That's assuming there's wifi available.

Are boosters even needed these days if you aren't doing a workover in the middle of nowhere? Even then there's Starlink.

Wifi calling is definitely a better option for home than a booster.

    Like. A thousand times better.

Glad I asked. I'll try the wifi calling option and see how reliable it is. It's fairly unreliable with signal or what's app but maybe the phone option is way better.

Not sure why this option didn't cross my mind.

How strong is your wifi and what's it speedtest at? Goto speedtest.net to check.

I'm on star link. It can be good most of the time but when we video call it can be somewhat shitty.

I need to spend sometime to get my starlink onto my roof. I'm sure it will greatly increase my speeds. Overall it's 100 to 150mbps from when I've tested before.

I'll run some more tests tonight when I'm home

we use a Wilson booster on a rural property, but it's really just to recover enough signal strength to place and receive calls.

It's a simple device, works "okay"... but I'd recommend wifi calling if you're just trying to cover areas of your house with low reception.
