I believe it would have been $1400+ GST, so he would have probably tried to sell it at the same cost as the watch ($1000-1100). The thinking was just that the watch would be easier to sell than store credit to a niche jewelry store.

Someone could've used that credit for a Tissot, which is affordable. Or $1400 a Submariner mmmmm

Sell the store credit is the way to go, or keep the store credit, and buy a Rolex in the future.

TAG Heuer is a nice brand, but being a bit small size at 40mm (42-44 would be more popular as TAG), white face, (again, black/dark blue face more popular) and Quartz .. just not popular, doubt he can sell it for $1000+ from kijiji ... may be $800-900.

On the other hand, $1400 store credit is easier to sell, (someone will use it as deposit for a Rolex ...lol) just not the best timing when it is too close to Christmas now.

Hey thanks for reaching out - unfortunately it is locked into the watch at this point, and can no longer be exchanged for store credit. My brother has simply listed the watch at a large discount instead. Thanks anyway!

No worries. Haha bad timing I guess if I had seen this earlier it would have been perfect for both of us. Just decided to take the plunge on a purchase that’s gonna hurt the wallet. I wouldn’t mind saving A few hundred. I see the reasoning though, it would have probably been a tougher sale on the credit then the watch. Good luck with the sale.
