I find it hilarious how much time people seem to be spending on hold. I literally walked into a Bell store, swapped 2 lines over. In and out in under 10 minutes. Was on Virgin, now on Bell.

unlocked my phone over a year ago but had to send it in to get the internal board replaced after that.

switch from Rogers to Bell yesterday; and when i put in the Bell sim card. it prompted for the unlock code.
    Old unlock code didn't work.
can't get thru to rogers to get unlock code because of this promotion.... they are so backed up.
Can't even get it to ring

I'm doing it at work while working on other stuff, no way I'd waste my personal time on this. Who's laughing now

Also all depends on when you did it. I did mine Friday evening, I walked into an empty Fido store, and then walked out 5 minutes later when it was all done. Sunday and Monday were probably the worst days to get it done because everyone that didn't know about the deal found out from their friends that got the 10GB plan on Friday and Saturday.

So I got an email from Telus saying "sorry to see you go" and informing me that my services will be cancelled on Jan 10th (the end of my current billing cycle.) Will I still be responsible for the entire month's charges? Or is it pro-rated from yesterday when I moved networks? Was on a month to month plan with no term.

I constantly bumped up against my 5GB limit. This will allow me to watch way more porn in the work bathroom than before.

Spent 1:12 on hold with Telus before getting through on the phone, with 137 people still ahead on the online queue. Seems their system is down and are unable to do anything

They said they would make the change and call me back when they are able, but let's see if they actually do.

It is interesting I kept getting "this number is no longer in service" message for the first 20 minutes this morning.

Easier to multitask rather than drive to a store

Umm maybe because your 8GB for $40 is better than 99.9% of people out there and they would gladly take that plan if offered.

The fact is most other people are paying $70-80+ for 6 GB or less, so to them this is the best deal they've ever seen.
exactly, my wife was paying Fido $105 for their 10GB plan and she has been with them for over 10 years.
as soon I found out how much she was paying and heard about the 60$ deal from Freedom, it was a no-brainer to switch.

Reading the Telus support twitter feed, it looks like there are literally thousands of people unable to get through who are leaving in droves for other carriers. Why would they not just make it available online? I bet that would decrease how inundated their call center and online chat are by more than half.

Oh well, I bet Rogers and Bell are laughing all the way to the bank right now.

Rogers is nearly impossible to get through to.

Lucked out and got helped through online chat this morning... only waiting 15-20 minutes.

You guys know these stores also have phones... right?

Rep put the wrong sim in one of the phones on Sunday... called the store (not bell directly) no holding, and fixed right away

But at least Rogers allows you to add the plan yourself online as opposed to waiting in a chat or phone queue.

I could switch online with my Fido account yesterday when I checked, but it only showed 5gb for $60 without the 5gb bonus, so I didn't do it (lots of people online said they did it and got a text verifying the extra 5gb though).

Checked today and couldn't access my account online anymore and the promo banner on the Fido website linked to "Find a Store". Went to Fido in TD, 20 min wait in line, 10 min with the rep for 2 lines and I was done.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Use this link, it should allow you get in queue. Some other ways to get into chat won't.

This was gold today, thanks a ton

Chat window popped up a bit before lunch (after initiating it about an hour prior) and had the changes done in about 10 mins. Now tonight I don't have to drive in the snow to a store like a small intoxicated blue guy

With 10GB you can be generous and let the guy in the next stall tether.

Not sure if anyone else has an apple watch 3 that tried this switch, but we went into Bell to change over and they said no problem, but your data won't be shareable anymore, and your watches will use their own data, which would then be a separate data charge. Anyone else have this issue?

Yea looks like this plan is not shareable so the watch plan doesnt apply. TELUS on the other hand is $10 for the watch with its own 1GB data.
