Default Where do Beyond go for Struts?

Bringing back some car topics on here, lol.

Where would you guys go for struts. Just maintaining a 2002 beater.

    - Canadian Tire
    - Part Source
    -Kingsway
    - Napa
    - Auto Value
    - (privileged to have) dealership part, with vendor discount pricing. But sometimes these older parts are insane $$$$$$$ even with jobber cost, sometimes it's awesome new factory equipment with discount cheaper than OE spec crappy tire recon/new condition. I guess that's the fun some of you enjoy sourcing/researching your projects.
    - Would you go Ebay/Amazon?

Looking for OE spec, not that there's any ways to prove it. But any other places Beyonders used or trust for Struts? Brand new.

Whatever brand you decide on, do a search on Amazon for just the part number. Amazon carries a lot of random stuff that you'd never think they'd have and sometimes at a really good price.

Is it a continuous unlimited code? Got some stuff sittin' in shopping cart on Rockauto, tempted to build a bigger order.

The code expires Jan 21,2018. You get sent one after each order you make and its 10% off. I am not sure if it can be used by someone else but can’t hurt to try. Let me know if you will use it and I can PM it to you.

Other people can use it but I'm pretty sure they are only 5% not 10%

My email says to share with everybody and it’s good for unlimited number of orders and dollar amounts, so paste this into the ‘How did you hear about us?’ line at checkout.

You are correct. I think my first one was 10% and 5% after that.

Anyways, I bought the strut kits for my WRX here and they have been good. Strut, new springs and upper mounts all pre-assembled. Barely a 2 beer job for the entire car.

Prices look good, but the inventory is 1/1000th of what Rockauto carries. Basically they only have what a Canadian Tire has on the shelf.

You can get most shipments within a week of ordering from RA. I order tons through them and even with upping shipping you usually come out ahead of buying locally.

Example I needed wheel hubs for my Jeep and RA was $86 each where Napa was $211 each. With the 5% discount I paid $206 with shipping for two which was the cost of 1 locally.

Did the timing belt on my Golf. The kit was $250 at Autovalue i ordered the exact part number from RockAuto a Monday night and received it Wednesday at 10AM from Texas for $120...... this was including express shipping otherwise it would have been closer to $100. Canadian retailers better up their game because large US companies have figured out cross border shipping.

This isn't a case of Canadian retailers bettering up their game as their hands are often tied by companies upstream for them. Case in point, when we were in the pet business I accidentally got emailed a price list that was supposed to go to just Canadian distributors - their cost in USD was what the same product would retail for in the USA. Help me understand how a retailer in Canada can compete if they're starting out the fight with at least one of their hands tied behind their back.
    Will fuck off, again.

I guess they cant? If I can source cheaper over the internet on a retail website then maybe they are doing something wrong?

At this rate Auto Value should be ordering direct from Rock Auto and reselling? The kit cost was 98CAD before shipping, autovalue was $265 after GST.

Same brand? Rockauto usually has economy, standard and premium choices (and prices) for every part.

+1 for RockAuto, never had a bad experience and usually exceed my expectations for shipping time.
