Has anyone used Equal Doors?
https://www.equaldoor.com/
An architect friend suggested them.
They're the same.
Looks like they sell wood or steel doors?

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
I didn't use them directly, but they are who my builder deals with, and that is where I went to pick out my doors that I wanted. No complaints. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Equal's the local manufacturer for basically all the wood doors in alberta... I put them into the hit/miss camp - more luck of the draw around the quality of the wood you end up with than anything they personally do (other than maybe less than adequate QA/QC on the wood they build those doors with). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Architects are influenced more by who's taken them for lunch lately with a show & tell presentation, than actually knowing the product.
I was recommended to use them as well. Their price was quite a bit lower for a specific CHI door we were after vs. the other local distributor. Cannot comment on quality of install as it has not gone in yet. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Bump.
My buddy came over to visit and tried to nose into my rear alley apron and sideswiped my garage door. Looks like 1 panel is pretty fucked and a second panel has a minor scrape. Can I get just that 1 or 2 panels replaced? Approx cost? Or do I need to buy a full new door?
I was thinking about the mismatch but if I can get away with a single panel maybe I just repaint the door to save cost as my friend is paying for the damage so want to get it as cheap as possible.
Standard builder grade flat panel door
Tap, Rack, BANG!
Yeah you should call a garage door guy.

Definitely.
The replacement panel vs whole door thing is still very much a reality - except a very limited few cases a single panel wholesale cost is about 2/3rds the price of a replacement door. And they usually arrived damaged. To enrage everyone for some reason during covid it seems like half the manufacturers changed the embossing patterns too.
Aka get a quote but don't be surprised if it ends up being a whole door.
Just had Tony @ Best Doors come do an emergency repair.
Still the guy.

confirmed. Tony is great. One of the springs broke on my door on New Years eve and he came and sorted it out
