Dang it about AndyL, too bad. Interested to know if there's a new garage door guy here too.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Nah, he's better looking and most definitely doesn't have nearly as much experience yelling at clouds.

As far as a garage door guy, we had a tricky install at my lake uncle's estate because of the low ceiling height but the guy we found did a very remarkable install. I'll post his details once I hear back from my Mom.

Don Ziegler from Ziegler Garage Doors, 403-809-1252 & [email protected]

Please note that he is not associated with the Ziegler Garage Doors out of the USA which doesn't have great reviews.

Another +1 for Tony. He took care of a family member's place years ago, and was exceptionally good. Glad he's still got a strong rep.

Tyler at TKOdoors.ca is awesome. cheap, honest and fast. I've recommended him to a few friends and everyone has been super happy with his service.

Any suggestions for which of the above is best for repairs or troubleshooting? My mother has an ancient Stanley that I've fixed a couple of times but I suspect next time it may not be so obvious as a loose wire.

Bonus points for someone who can deal with little old ladies who don't know what they want but also won't sell them something premium.

    I need to know too!

Anyone care to ballpark the cost of a door install on a new garage build?

Darrin @ Deputy doors. Great fast service and was much better priced on my repairs and the quote I asked for a new door. 4033699223

He seemed to be in line with every other reasonable quote I got
There were a couple of google companies that were out of this world.... like $500 for a straight fix

If you ever decide to get back in the garage door business Andy, you let me know
