Anyone else have their hinges break on their doors I inspected my door on the weekend and found 3 hinges with buckled and torn metal. Inspecting the other hinges I see some with small fractures too.

Yes, but I bet yours were installed like mine and the mouth-breather only chose mounting bolts in the centre of the hinges and not the sides which stresses the shit out of them in the lifted door position.
I think I replaced 2 or 3 this summer, but they still tolerated that abuse for 5+ years.

This is what it looked like before I replaced one of them Name: 9A2AE5AF-9E7E-4BB5-ABE2-8B8FB190CF66.jpg

I also noticed that instead of hinge 1 being used in position 1 it
Was hinge 2 then hinge 2 then hinge 3 where as I thought it would be hinge 1-2-3 as per the photos on the back of my hinge install diagram.

I had one break and at least two more with the stress cracking.

Right, but you can see those others were there for the taking, yet not selected. That would solve 99% of these particular issues.

2/4 center holes are all that is required. Extra holes are there if the centers are stripped out or you've got a super heavy door (think 32'+)

I had my hinges bend and buckle like that and even my door fall down a few times and it all turned out to be because it wasn't aligned properly and was placing a weird twisting stress on the door/hinges. My guess is that happened after the garage had settled for a few years as it was a new build. I had a friendly fella come over to square it up and adjust everything back properly and I haven't had any issues since. The fear is always there though when you see it jerk a little bit or squeak when it didn't squeak before. But I would look at alignment of your doors for sure.

Had Best Doors come by today to adjust/lube/inspect my garage door today. Everything runs a little smoother. Nice dude. I'm happy.

    Question:
What lube to use on garage door hinges and rollers? Lithium grease? Silicon?

I've been using Jig-a-Loo specific "garage door lube" and I'm underwhelmed. It puts on what should be a lasting, waxy light grease (aerosol) but it lasts like a fart in a windstorm. I'm pretty sure WD-40 would outlast this.
Many people swear by it, though.

If you want something that stays wet... ATF and straight up 30wt mixed 50/50.

The true garage door lubes do work well.

The garage lube I had years ago was the size of a quarter stick of butter. A solid bar of waxy stuff that basically stayed on forever. Not sure if its still available or not.

It's probably green and comes in a tube per Happy-Hopping.

Bumping this up, our door has decided it doesn’t like fully closing in cold weather (goes to fully closed then reopens). Who is the good door guy in 2024?

Weird, there must be multiple threads because I've seen this answered FAR more recently than 2020.
The consensus is still some guy named Tony with an honorable mention to a guy named Jay if you are mega South.
