I bought Office from this seller and received a 100% legit copy that is fully downloaded and activated directly through Microsoft:

I got Office, but most people buy Windows based on the feedback (8,412 at 99.1% positive).

The key should be on the bottom of the laptop, or under the battery, but it may be worn out.

Or do a factory restore if the recovery partition is ok.

There's many other options other than what you're trying to do.

I believe they buy unused keys from companies that buy them in bulk from Microsoft for pre-built machines that never got used and ended up as leftovers. I know lots of people with these keys now and have never had a single issue. There is nothing shady or suspicious about the process from what I have seen, everything is done directly through Microsoft through your Microsoft Account after they send you the key and they have overwhelmingly positive feedback. It's also so cheap you have almost nothing to lose.

Ya, going by the customer reviews, it definitely looks like the keys will work.

Regardless, there's 2 better options than taking that route. Well, 3 if the OP wants to put W10 on it.

If you LEGALLY bought the software you own a license, if you lost your key, any key can be used to activate it.

These are usually Dreamspark or whatever activation keys, NOT legal for resale. They'll work, you probably won't have any deactivation issue, Microsoft won't sue you, but it's not "100% legit" for people to be using

Neither is buying a OEM copy of Windows unless your a new system, but people loophole that too.

Been meaning to get a key for my office, since the 2-year subscription that came with the laptop is gone. Didn't know you can buy a key on eBay might as well give it a shot!

Better put your tinfoil hat on then. Every Windows OS has had some form of telemetry built in since Windows 7, and Windows 10 is not that bad. So much mis-information out there.

Not just Windows though. Apple operating systems do the same thing. So does any search engine.

Of course you know this Fireban, but most people don't. I just find it easier to tell them that nothing you do on the internet is private.
