Kona Honzo AL/DL. Go down to Bow and see if they have anything left from the blue light sale.
Same bike I landed on also. Good call.

Or go call Bike and Brew and see if they can find you any old stock from their distributor. I find Bow Cycle is usually pretty reluctant to do that for you; they're only concerned with selling you what they have in stock.
Maybe its just me, but supporting the Bike and Brews and Wheellifes of the world is also a lot more satisfying then Bow Cycle..?

not sure why you feel that way? they are local independent single store bike shops that have found different niches to operate in, it's not like Bow Cycle is a large multi store shop like The Cyclepath group of stores or The Calgary Cycle group.

If you go in there and ask for something specific they will 100% order it for you. If you go in just shopping for something and say "these are my needs, what do you have that fits it" of course they will try and sell you what they have in stock. I know because I get to do up those special orders ALL the time :p

No for sure I get it, they're better then MEC or sportchek, but the small mom & pop stores sure seem a lot more willing to go out of their way for ya or walk you through something... i dunno, i just really like bike and brew for the limited $$ ive spent there! Plus good latte stop

I've gone to Bow and have asked them if they're able to get me bikes in specific years/models/sizes a few times and they don't even bother looking and say they can't or it's not available. Meanwhile I'll reach out to other bikes shops and they have no problems ordering me in those same bikes so they're obviously in stock somewhere. Now I don't bother asking Bow anymore. So no, don't tell me they'll 100% order it for you cause the last few times I've asked, they 100% didn't even try.

I like Bow and I'll support them when I can, but they've stopped being my go-to bike shop.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to chalk it up to the salesperson that you were dealing with, just like all places there are good ones and bad/lazy ones. If you're ever looking for a specific bike that Bow carries let me know and I can take a look for you or get you to talk to one of the better salespeople there, not even bothering to search is unacceptable.

I have the same feelings as of late. The guys at Bike and Brew are amazing. Occasionally, Bow has incredible pricing that just can't be matched elsewhere, but they aren't my first stop for things.

Any deals for FiveTen Freerider shoes online or locally? Selection seems very limited from what was available last season.

Anyone been to the annual Alberta bike swap? Walked by it before and most of the bikes looked pretty ran down and not great so prices. Looking to see if they have some gems potentially.

I think you have to be there right when it starts to get the good stuff.

I never even assumed there'd be anything good there, just peoples' junk.

Could be interesting, thanks! F*cking hate them specifying "up to" especially in tiny letters...cocksuckers. You know it's some old socks that are 50% while everything else is like 15% lol

For anyone still looking for Shimano on the cheap, Merlin Cycles still ships to Canada at CRC type prices.

I've actually almost always order from Merlin Cycles. I find most of their prices are like the best compared to other online shops (for the most part).

My order hadn't even shipped yet so I cancelled and went with Merlin. Saved $20 and needed a couple more tubes as well, which are like half the cost as in Canada.
