Didn't see anything interesting. Walked out empty handed. Not nearly as bad as Blue Light sale. Seemed like a regular Saturday at a bike shop, but slightly busier.
They did have a set of 23c Michelin Pro4 Endurance though for 60% off @CLiVE

Went there to see if there's any 20" kids bike, but ended up with a spare 105 11-28 cassette... $71 @ 60% off -> $28.4, then apply that $20 coupon from bike to work day -> $8.4 + tax.

Those are some very weak discounts for 3 year old bikes that have been no doubt been thrashed. The Norco Sight is a good bike though.

The Cannondale Habits get pretty average reviews and they're heavy. Also they just look weird haha.

Kona Process' are nice bikes but discounts are weak, I guess they're only 1 year old but for an ex-rental they aren't even 30% off, which is a typical discount for a brand new 1-year-old bike.

I'd stick to your Trance plan provided you can get an independent inspection and you can get some comfort that the bike hasn't been abused too badly.

I don't know anything about Pivot bikes to comment other than that I don't like those types of rear suspension designs.

    Just my opinion anyway.

Looks like a good all-rounder. I just don't know enough about Ghost bikes other than I have seen them on some deeper discounts. Component set looks fine for the most part.

I've bought bikes at roughly ~30% off 1-year-old new or ~50% off 2-year-old new, so a lot of these deals don't look overly great to me - especially when some of them are ex-rentals.

German, good and solid is what I'd say... honestly most framesets are made by kensis with very similar geometries and designed using 3 standard FS linkages

If anyone likes the Specialized Power saddle, they’re on for 25% off at Ridleys. I grabbed a Power Arc as the regular Power and Shimano Pro Stealth work well for me. The lady also picked up a pair of Fizik R4b shoes for 40% off. Saw a pair of S Works 7 on sale for $300 from $500

Yeah German company (but apparently not made there) is about all I knew about them.

I thought Giant made the frames for most bikes, maybe not for the European brands though. I also believe Giant is by far the largest manufacturer of carbon frames in the world. I also have read they do assembly for Scott, Trek and others but I imagine that can change depending on where the highest profit margins are.

I find that these local bike shop sales are all hype with a small handful of actual deals. Unless you're looking for a bike it's a wast of time.

Anyone looking for a road bike? This comes off as a really good deal to me. You could get a lot lesser of a bike for more money.
