Woke up at 2am with the wind and couldn't sleep, it was ruthless on the edge of the city NE and then 2ft snow drifts on the road this morning. Subie went through no problem, glad I took off my splitter and such though.

Had to repack all my bins this morning with everything catered across the alley. But then again that’s at least a monthly occurrence in the NE lol. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

i spent like an hour putting a huge tarp over my partially shingled garage im building last night, hauled a bunch of bundles up to weigh it down.... That didn't last lol. Was outside at 5am cleaning it up. a 2x12 ripped my overhead phone and cable right off the wall, goood times.

Maybe it’s time to get the PSS’ off the car
Aye, that wind was a right howler, I woke up around the same time and didn't get back to sleep for hours. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Nah just use a different car haha. I'm planning on keeping my performance all seasons on my car all winter this year. Last year I didn't drive that car once between Dec and May, and it'll likely be the same again this time around. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I parked it on a steep driveway covered in a little snow the other day... came out at it had slid down and onto the roadThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Doing the same, I shut her down day before Halloween and cleaned her up and tucked it into the corner of the garage under the cover. Thoroughly enjoy the flexiblility the Jeep gives me though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
My alley freezes up so badly that pulling it out on a nice day just isn’t an option, I tried early April and had to have the wife help me push it back into the garage it was so stuck. Even after chipping and sanding everything. Too much torque + MCT makes for a bad time.
Do you uninsure while it is parked?

Yeah I used to live in your hood and for some reason the alleys get like 8" of ice in them overnight, with one set of ruts that go down to the asphalt haha. My neighbour was backing his 4runner into the garage, slid sideways when crossing a rut and ruined his door and rear 1/4This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I don't uninsure it... although maybe I should look into it. Last winter was the first one I've ever successfully not taken it out once haha. Could be an easy way to save a couple hundred bucks.
I do a suspension of coverage on the C63, it’s technically fully covered but there is an understanding that I can’t drive it. But if someone did something stupid like try and steal it I am covered for potentially liability or if it rolled away or something and caused damage. At least that’s the way I understand it.
I get 90% of the collision and liability back as a credit as soon as I reactivate. This is with TD so dunno if this is common practice.
I’m always interested in what other people do for these situations.

Dont take H2 north of Red Deer. North or southbound is fucked completely, semis everywhere, accidents everywhere... So of course I brought a car back from Calgary to Edmonton last night and then came back down to Red Deer this eve
But its actually bad. Lots of places with zero traction, little Acura will spin the studded winters at 70km/h in 5th it is so slippery out.
Highly recommend avoiding it until at least tomorrow afternoon.
The M5 I put on comprehensive only and it stays in the garage til May. Even if we got a chinook where I could drive it in say January, I won't because of gravel. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Please turn your lights all the way on people. Also, the roads are slippery.

It's pretty slick out there. Even with winter tyres, braking isn't so good.
Crowchild was fine traction wise but a shit storm of traffic
First winter in a RWD vehicle, not sure if my winters are junk but holy fuck the traction/abs light was basically on
