CPS ticket by mail

Just received by mail from CPS 2 tickets one for 20 over says clocked with radar/laser and another for fail to obey direction of peace officer. From the tickets I am assuming its one of those laser traps where the cop is assuming we didnt stop when asked.

The tickets only mentions date of Nov 14 without any further details, no location information (only says at or near calgary), no vehicle description. We have 2 cars in the family registered to both our names and me and my wife both don't recall ever being directed by laser cop to pull over.

Anyone else received regular tickets like this via mail? Both tickets are under my name but as none of us was pulled over how was that determined and are demerits being put under my name as well?

What are my best ways to fight this ticket.

Tickets are sent to whomever the vehicles are registered to. If registered to both of you, whomevers name is first.

The tickets are the same as the yellow tickets except printed on a white paper. I also noted that the fail to obey peace officer ticket doesnt have any traffic safety act section/subsection listed. Would this make it invalid.

Would the CPS even let you go like that if they assumed you were trying to run? That seems like a pretty serious offense no?

failure to obey direction? As in, the cop stepped out into traffic and you burnt around him/her and continued driving?

I would think the cop will get in the car to chase us down if we ignored directions but the tickets came in mail with no other documents. It was on a weekday so it would of happened in dusk/low light condition on our work commutes.

Both ticket have 160(1) owner contravenes written on them so seems like registered owner ticket. I will go talk to justice peace next week on my day off to see if anything can be done. If no demerits are involved its really not worth it for me to take time off work to go to court.

I have dashcam on both cars but by time I received ticket the footage on that day was overwritten.

Cops don't chase people when they have a speed trap set up. They know the person will be gone before they even get back in their car.

Doesn't work if there's more than one cop car though. A co-workers wife was chased down by a second cop in the same situation because she mistook the cops lack luster hand symbol for "slow down", not "pull over"
