It's Calgary it's winter it's not -40. It's a fucking lovely day!
Agreed. I took offense to the previous "extreme weather" thread title. Calgary gets very little of that, but the thread had updates every day.
Should have named it the 2018 weather bitching thread, lol.
I am sure that this thread will just turn into a studded vs non studded debate.
It's slushy and gross out. How do people keep cars clean?

I waxed my car last weekend. The slush falls right off now. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I was thinking this to myself. It's either too cold or too slushy out to even bother washing the car. I'll probably give it a douche tonight out of pity. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Oh, I'm not worried about the slush sticking, I'm talking about how my car turned from gray to brown in a single day. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Ceramic coatings. Best thing I have ever done to my car. Run it through the CO-OP touchless and it looks like it has a fresh coat of wax on it every time. Nothing sticks to it and it's protected from salt/sap/bird poop, etc. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
There is nothing you can do about the fine spray off people's tires though that slowly turns every car brown haha, this just makes it much, much, easier to clean off with minimal effort.
Also get your windows coated as well! Even the easy to apply Aquapel does wonder! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Anyone driven to Canmore this week - how are the roads?

I started reading into ceramic as this sounds like a great idea. Several shops are saying don’t apply to windows as you can get weird distortion effects. Any truth to that? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm doing it tomorrow so hopefully decent. Traffic cameras all show the roads being totally clear of snow, and with it not being too cold out hopefully won't be icy. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Can't be any worse than a $200 replacement windshield some people run. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Drove it yesterday, they were fine. No snow on them anywhere. Fill up on washer fluid though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Some companies like Gtechniq and CarPro have specific coatings for windows and windshields but I can tell you from my own experience with Gtechniq EXO. I had no issues with distortion from using a coating on any windows. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It will usually last for around 1 - 1.5 years on the side windows and a little less on the windshield.
Would Aquapel be good in these conditions? I've yet to try it.
