    Default Southern California recommendation

Hi there beyond, I am looking for some advice on a trip im planning for early March.
We are going to visit the in-laws in Yuma, but I want to take some time to go somewhere else for a day or two.
Right now I am thinking San Diego, LA, Palm springs or phoenix.
It all depends on the cheaper option for a non stop flight, since we are also traveling with our 7 month old at the time.
Ideally I would like to go to a nice beach area, or something somewhat family friendly.
Keep in mind I wont have much time since I will have to drive down to Yuma right after.
Thanks for all the ideas in advance.

SD is cool but not sure March is warm enough for beach visits. Even in Oct, it get quite chilly in the mornings.

You probably need to go North more for beaches, like Laguna or Newport if you want to swim.

I stayed in La Jolla in Oct and 2 years before that at Pacific Beach/Mission area. La Jolla is more upscale and laid back. Mission tends to cater to younger crowd.

I prefer SD over LA. Traffic is by no mean good but way better. I don't think there is non-stop flight to SD or just not cheap ones, not sure.

No idea about Palm Spring, last time I was there gotta be 20+ years ago. Same with Phoenix, only a stop over to Tuscon.

After doing a bit more research, I think LA is out of the question getting there is cheap but more of a drive to Yuma. Ideally SD sounds great but as you mentioned the flights are not the cheapest option, might flight to Palm springs and drive to SD.
    Thanks

Google flight shows a Westjet Mar 2 to 14 direct flight to SD is only $439. Not bad at all.

I have done SD and also driven to palm Springs for the flight. That drive is no big deal and still better than dealing with LA traffic.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?
