    Default Android photo time stamps

It used to be when in my different photo folders, if I went full screen on a picture and tapped once it would display a date momentarily. Doesn't anymore and can't seem to find a setting for it?

Googling just leads me to apps that will time stamp everything. I don't want to add one, only view it - as its handy when looking at older photos (going into photo details to see it is a pain in the ass)

What app are you using for this?

If you use Gallery then tap the photo and choose More -> Details

Yes gallery, but tapping the photo only shows share, edit, delete icons along the top. Camera roll along the bottom - like so.Name: Screenshot_2018_01_04_10_48_32.jpg

Looks like your using an old version of Android? Or a non-standard version.

If you have "Photos" installed you can also do it by opening the photo and clicking the info button.

Every Android phone has different Gallery app shipped by the manufacturer. On Google devices, Photos is the default Gallery app.

Chance are your gallery app that shipped with your phone got updated and the GUI changed. So it's device specific.

If you wish to have the same GUI across all your Android devices, just use Google Photos as your default Gallery app.
