Pretty sure everybody's assessments (especially commercial) is higher than what you would be able to sell at these days. That's how they're able to make the tax rate look lower while actually increasing taxes. Tricks dumb people aka Nenshi supporters.

To be fair though, remember all those years when everyone was bragging how they sold their house for 20-30% higher than tax assessment value? I knew it would flip eventually.

Paved alley is not cheap but so worth it. Your alley where people cut down is a separate issue, the City needs to do something about that. Call 311 and let them setup a cop at the far south end and that should put a stop to it.

This is my biggest gripe. People use it as another road so in the morning the whole alley is backed up and its near impossible to get out of your garage if you leave after 7am (my wife). At least with the shitty gravel it made it less desirable to cut down even though people did it, and it kept the speed down. I've already noticed that at the end of the day people are driving 30-40 down the alley. My neighbor said he's nearly been side swipped pulling out of his garage a few times since its been finished from people hauling ass through it.
