Westjet trip suggestions with 2 year old

Have a $1500 west jet travel voucher that needs to be used in the next 365 days. The wife and I are looking to figure out what it is we would want to do with it. We're not the people to dump our kid at a day-care or leave her with the inlaws so she will be coming with us. We're not shopping or gimmicky place people. We would like to keep the total cost to around $5k. Can be as short as 4-5 days or as long as a 10. I'd like to be near / at an Ocean but that isn't a requirement.

Our first couple ideas:

- Cancun all inclusive.
- Southern Cali
- Phoenix / Flagstaff (Grand Canyon, etc).
- Austin.
- Florida.

Has to be somewhere that Westjet flies obviously.

We're thinking spring / fall as our summer is pretty full, so as much as I'd like to do Newfoundland or something, I think the weather is too prohibitive.
Just wondering what the other dads suggest to do.

I wouldn't go to Newfoundland in the spring, but fall can be beautiful. If you go in September you can also check out Targa Newfoundland.

just came back from a trip to maui with my 1 year old and 3 year old. they both had a blast. stayed at an airbnb, oceanfront hotel. find a place with a kitchen, since eating out with kids is not the easiest. kids loved the pools, beaches, aquarium. we went on a small hike/walking trail which was lots of fun.

stayed in kaanapali beach area. lots of good restaurants nearby, shopping. cost about $5k for the week, including airfare

I go to Hawaii, Honolulu quite often with my family; we've flown with my daughter when she was 1, 2 and 3. Considering how long the flight is, 5-6 hours from Vancouver; you can regularly find flights for around 500-600 dollars. Cheapest I've flown was for 450.

With Air BNB you can get some pretty sweet deals, if you plan to stay around the Waikiki area in Honolulu, just make sure your accommodation includes parking. Parking can be killer in that area; most hotels charging 20-30 USD per day.

My daughter loves it there; tons of beaches just overall relaxed environment.
