    Default Silicone Caulking on Hands

I recaulked my bathroom yesterday. First time working with the stuff and I got a lot on my hands. After removing it all, my hands are extremely dry to the point of being unnaturally white.

I know this is kind of a bizarre question, but is this normal? Was thinking of just applying hand cream and calling it a day but I'm curious if there's anything to be concerned about here.

If I were you, I'd keep an eye out for another nipple developing just below your left eye.
    Will fuck off, again.

There's a warning on the label for that, dry skin and nipple growth. Be careful.

Vaseline for dry skin, no suggestions for nipple.

Your hands look dry because the silicone is still inside your finger prints. Go buy some manly hand cleaner with pumice and during a hot shower all the silicone will wipe right off. Been there a 100 times.

So, is the extreme dry skin typical after working with Caulking?

The acetic acid in the silicone can dry your skin, yes. Seriously though, buy some Worx green powder hand cleaner or Orange hand cleaner with lanolin. Your hands will be the clean and softest since you were a baby.

I have a third small nipple on my left side. and a birth mark on the left between my nose and left eye. Ya, I really do.

So....I'm thinking crusification is in order.

BUT....I write with my right hand, so I'm good to go

    OP:

Caulking (just lie drywall seams) is an art form. That is, if you've got the shit on your hands, then you're doing it wrong.

Absolutely true. At work we caulk miles of seams while building walk-in cooler boxes. It usually takes me a few days to get the hang of it, now I just keep the apprentices busy with it. The new guys go home looking like they just jerked off 10 prize winning bulls, white in their hair and finger tips down to their elbows. Our hazard assessments discuss not getting it in your eyes while handling the caulk and keeping the caulk out of your mouth.

Of course, who hasn’t? I helped startup the new NWR shop in Calgary and couldn’t be happier.
