it's not the best but it's the first and only type of restaurant in Calgary.
if you like this type of seafood cuisine, then give it a try and make your own judgement.

Most Beyonders that have decided to pass on it doesn't look like they have been to this type of restaurant in the states.

We'll be going again later this week so hopefully they have ironed out some of the kinks.

In terms of price, we usually spend on average about 30US$ per person in the states.

For the same amount we usually order, our bill at Captains Boil was about 27CAD$ per person.
It might get pricier once crawfish is in season.
What are you ordering that keeps your per person cost at about one half of what others are saying they paid per person?
    Will fuck off, again.

For a party of 4 here's what I recall we ordered.

1lbs shrimp - captains boil, mild
    1lbs shrimp - garlic, non-spicy
1lbs mussel - captains boil, mild
1lbs clams - captains boil, mild

    3x cup of white rice
    2x corn
    2x potatoes
    1x sausages

    bill was around 100$ + 15% tip

We usually Dont order drinks, just water but occasionally I'll have beer too.

Cool that we got one albeit an expensive one. Never really understood why these places are so popular given how easy it is to literally boil up some seafood at home with a few spices. Only thing I like getting at these joints is the deep fried soft shell crab.

we went out again yesterday and they had fresh crawfish from Seattle, pretty big and fatty.
spices are getting a little better, less butter than our first time but still not enough spices, especially garlic.
still didnt find medium spicy enough so might try hot next time.

a cold Tsing Tao was perfect with the meal.

edit: btw a pound of crawfish is 26$
we go mostly for shrimp, clams and mussels anyway.

There's a lot of places called "crab shack" in Florida, but was it Joe's Crab Shack in Jacksonville Beach? Because that place is hands down the best one I've been to.
I think it was a Joe's Crab Shack actually! Some friends took us there. I can't remember the exact spot. It was dark and I lost my glasses in the ocean. Was about a 20/30 minute drive from Deerfield Beach where we were staying. It was damn delicious!
