Looking to buy a treadmill and spin bike for the basement, any recommendations for brands, models or stores to check out?
Also, for equipment like this, is it a bad idea to look for something used from kijiji?
Thanks

Not brand specific, but for equipment like this you should be buying by WEIGHT. I have found the heavier units (bikes and treadmills) are (unsurprisingly) longer lasting.
I look for bikes that allow me to stand up on occasion; a wind trainer does not offer enough resistance for this.
Huge opportunity for used equipment thats barely been used, but discounted 50% or more on Kijiji.
We have a NordicTrack treadmill that came from Canadian Tire about 4 years ago. Was like 50% off of the regular (inflated) price when we got it. My wife uses it almost every day, and it's still goin strong, and as mentioned it's unbelievably heavy.
These are my favorite of the ones I've used in spin classes

Thanks for the input.
Ordered this one from costco today, can't find too many reviews, but should work for our needs.

Well, I guess saving almost 600$ is not a priority:This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

That ones actually a lot different than the one he ordered. If it was my money, I'd pay the extra $600 for the one with the bigger motor, etc. (well, I did pay the extra money for the one with the bigger motor, etc. haha. The one he ordered was almost identical to the one I've got)This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
For the average person, its a moot point - unless you're like me and weight +250lbs - thats where the "beef" factor of the treadmill comes into play..... lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
This was my issue a few years ago. Went looking, but at 6'4" and 250 I found out the standard treadmill might not work out for stride length and weight. Picked this one up, and no complaints to date http://www.bhfitnessusa.com/product/TS5.aspxThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Well, maybe one complaint. I bought it and never use it lol. Last piece of equipment I'll every buy, a gym membership is so much cheaper!
