Let's see if any of this talk turns to real positive action in terms of a pipeline being constructed and operating.

Well, to be fair we want to export crude, and they want to import refined. There's a difference in cleanup costs associated with both. A big difference.

I wonder how much it'll cost us though, if their fuel prices skyrocket? We do get a lot of things imported from overseas that are trucked to Alberta.
It'd be basically impossible to make up the difference via tanker. They'd have to get it from the USA for one thing, and that's going to cost mega-$$$.

BC gets almost all its jet fuel from Alberta. Cutting off our supply would truly fuck over their airport. It should have been done yesterday.

We were talking about this at work today. The boss is pretty logical. He said last year alberta prodiced 1.5 billion barels of oil and collected around 3 billion in royalties. About 2$ a barell.

At full capacity this pipeline can only bring in 490$ million a year in royalties for alberts and bc gets nothing.

Whats the point? Compared to 10 billion a year we get in equalization?

And That's making the giant asumption that we are short on transport capacity and stockpiling the tar which we arent.

What will make an real difference is raising royalties and making 4$ a barell instead of 2. Not a dumb pipeline

Heck a 50 cent royalty increase 2.5$ instead of 2$ will make more money without more carbon, pollution, leaky made in thailand pipeline parts.

Not sure if you know this but royalties in Alberta work on a sliding scale. From crude specifically the royalties last year were half of what they were back in 2014.

Your boss’s logic only works if prices reverse their current trend and go back to the lows we saw the last few years which were lows we haven’t seen in several decades.

Just think of how the Alberta subways have been suffering without their double meat revenues.

That was all funded by oil and gas prosperity.

And you estimate is based on $140 oil? You have to be brainded to believe $2 cdn a barell is reasonable at 30 usd a barell

This guy lost all credibility once he said discuss and listen to First Nations. In the last decade, have you read or seen anything positive that come from the First Nations, besides money pandering, chief laundering, or how the rights of women are finally meeting 21st century standards.
The M.P. has been a environmentalist his whole life, so what he speaks of for for himself and for his riding, just slips off his tongue and is nothing new to him. He has every right to project his and B.C.’s views on the current Kinder Morgan project, but why did that have to wait till now. Why couldn’t this whole debate be at it’s early stages of discussions, where everything could have been panned out with everybody/group/investors? Were they waiting for their spotlight or hold the country for ransom? And B.C. had the perfect P.M. as a listener, who by the way, spent part of his life in B.C.

Just like B.C. has their own views, so do others. In the end, the federal government made their decision, and it has to be served.

Hi uninformed new guy. First this pipleune does nothing for anyone but texas billionars. It hardly does anything for Alberta and it negative for bc. Zilch for canada. The joke royalties we get combined with no shipping bottle neck existing mean zero benefit for alberta, and 12 jobs building the actual thing.

Thailand would benefit more since they supply all the shit on KM pipelines that leaks all the time.

Second as an election promise trideau said the approval for the pipeleine was a fraud, and it would be done properly. Just another thing he lied about.

Third. The pipelije is not getting built because its illegal and they will lose in a supreme court challenge. Truedeau ans Nutley are kicking and screaming because they know this and don't want to go there and mutkey thinks getting the pipleine done before her election will get her re elected. Too bad.

Ad for the native thing. Your racism not withstanding they have guaranteed rights in the constitution whethwr you agree or not doesnt matter.

The NDerP need to cut refined products to BC immediately. The message obviously isn't getting through:

Waiting until the 31st makes no sense as KM will pull out by then. Its a drop date, not a "we'll start the process" date. Apparently the retards in office don't understand that not everyone fucks about for a year talking about things.

Folks, dont forget that there is a public and a private face to all of these major events. The public facade might not reflect on what is really happening on a larger scale. Sometimes this only comes out after the dust has settled, or someone in the know leaks out info in the hopes of change or clarity.

Clearly you haven't watched the discussion that happened at the legislature this morning, when the news came out mid question period with Kenney grilling Notely. They have zero fucking control over what's going on.

Like I said, your liberal bias is so hilariously apparent even as they crash/burn and fuck everything up its truly staggering.
