Who is debating abortion? I’m pointing out that redline is an idiot for arguing the issue isn’t complex.
i am pointing out killramos is idiot for thinking he gets a say with what a woman does with her body.. and that makes it simple.

What is better about mental health support CDN vs USA? I dont see much of a difference...
    Big difference.

In Canada its "free", in the US you pay for it.

I am going to point out that you are an idiot because abortion IS a big, complex topic.

I also agree with @ExtraSlow that the big, complex topic discussion should be lead by women, not men.

Except it is not free here... You just pay for it differently via high income taxes up front from your paycheque rather than private insurance (or fees) from your personal income in the bank, and here you have almost no choice who you use to help you and getting it covered by our public system is not as easy as all that where as down there you have a much higher level of choice.

Yes I understand that... Hence the quotations around "free".

what mental health support is free? any consoling that potential active shooter might need is not free... Maybe private health benefits help cover some costs but not everyone has that

Cause if its free can we sign up beyond for this free mental health cause everyone here needs it...

Considering our extreme lack of active shooters in Canada, I am going to assume said person is receiving adequate attention they need.

You are thinking in terms of mental illness being something too simplistic like "depression" or "bi-polar" and since we have that in both countries it can't be the main cause, but that is the result and not the root of the issues. Where Canada and the US vary dramatically is in the mindset and societal pressures than manifest into "depression" and "bi-polar" etc. That is why we have very different levels of severity of such crisis versus our southern neighbours.

Would love to learn more about the differences in societal pressure between Canada and US. Seems like an interesting topic.
    Any resources you'd recommend?

Seems like our gun control laws are working.
    Wouldn't you agree?

that is why i said this a page ago:
The US definitely needs better gun control and Canada needs better laws on gun crime, we got the control part done if not over done, now time work on the crime.

But yes i agree on this point

As redline said, it really isn't. Someone else's religious views shouldn't be forced on another. I'm getting off topic here but until the "life" is able to exist outside the mother it's her choice. Docs say first trimester, that's good enough for me. Other side of the coin, are the same people who want to ban abortion also willing to help support the child if the mother is not able to? What to do with people who get illegal abortions? or have health issues from having botched abortions?

    Update:
Tuned into the Governor's speech. He's pushing the lack of access to mental health facility, but not the need for a mental health check up before purchasing firearm.
Well now, you've got a lot of complexity in your views that might not jive with other peoples' complexity.

That's a lot of complexity for your "simple issue".

People who think the abortion debate is not complex need to look around to see that there is a very complex discussion going on about the the issue. If you think it is simple, you are probably dumb. I hate to be so blunt.

I I think primarily this is a discussion that should be lead by women.
Is this sarcasm or just a really bad take?

If the same gun control laws existed in the states, after he completed his fire arms courses maybe the grandmother he lived with would have gotten a call from enforcement asking if she was comfortable with him getting a firearm. She says no because he's a psycho, and he has to go on a knifing spree instead.

It only becomes complex when you toss the religious aspect into it. Otherwise its a simple... medically speaking.

Without a doubt one of the dumbest posts of the year.
