Every single magazine I have seen in the last ~10 years or so is thinner than ever, and 50-75% advertisements. Also, by the time any magazine arrives in your mailbox, the information has been online for weeks if not longer.
When I was younger I subscribed to MAXIM and the ones I have seen recently, they are so thin they don't even have a spine anymore where they used to have space to print the issue number
I briefly dabbled in electronically delivered magazines via Zinio (Camera stuff, Home Theater mags, Car mags, Popular Mechanics, etc.) and while it was slightly better than print, it was the same story - every review or piece of news I read I had already seen weeks ago online and it was old news.
I also can't stand the journalism in car magazines these days, it seems to have been reduced to little more than a competition on who can think of the best quote to blow up and pull out of the print to describe a car. I also can't remember the last time anyone wrote anything negative or honest about a car in a magazine, they usually have 1 or 2 tiny nitpicks and the rest will be gushing.
