Just got a new one from Costco. $115 for the same CCA as the much higher priced Can.Tire Eliminator ones ($150)
Hate to bump a sortof irrelevant thread but does costco require a core deposit?

Battery in my ford is toast after sitting for winter ( my, well my wifes, fault - so still my fault ) and i was hoping to go pick up a new one here. Costco Batteries sound ideal.

Would rather make one trip though so I was wondering if I should pull the toast battery first. Their website info for batteries is literally shit.

I'm almost certain they charge a core.

Core charge is mandatory from government.

Not true. GM doesn't charge core on its batteries.

Old thread bump, but it's my thread so YOLO or yeet or whatever the fuck kids say. new truck has AGM, and start-stop, and a battery-management-system (BMS) and stories of battery issues. So I'm coming back to my theory that even "normal" vehicles probably benefit from regular charging. So, thinking that for ease of use, I could wire up an on-board charger, and then in winter, plug in the charger and block heater on a timer that starts sometime overnight, and battery would be in tip-top shape.

Then I go down the rabbit hole of on-board chargers that are best for AGM, and I look at the price of those, and well, then I post a thread about it.

    So, hai guise! whatcha think?

Pretty sure you know what you are doing on this one?

My preference is CTEK, I know you like NOCO’s (to be fair I have one of their jump packs and it’s pretty good).

I don’t think AGM charging is a particularly odd feature on any modern charger, lithium a different story.

Sometimes you ask a question not because you don't know the answer, but because it needs to be asked.

Hard wire the ctek adapter to your posts. Plug in when you get home.

Can't use a timer with a ctek as far as I can tell because it will not turn on to the charge mode you last selected.

I prefer the 7k rpm charging method.

buy Costco batteries, i love their no questions asked warranty, you can abuse the shit out of the battery and even if it only lasts a year, they give you a refund no questions asked and no testing and you buy a new one.

(*guess i was replying to the old part of the thread, meh, still applies.)

Your truck should have 2, 3 batteries minimum.

What's funny is that not all noco seem to have that button.
Particularly the newest generation. . Have they gotten smarter, or dumber?

CT had a sale on Noco a few weeks ago and I picked one up for my jalopy. I also picked up a tester which is basically a coil cook top burner. lol.

I grabbed a noco genius 5 that has an AGM setting.

What I actually need is a battery conditioner for 6V batteries that go into my lawn mower.

should have bought the noco10, it has AGM and 6v, and its on sale right now for $130 at CT (*scratch that, doesn't look like it has 6v reconditioning, that's odd...)

yeah, I would have, but without 6v reconditioning, the 5 does what I need it to. I don't need 12V power.

Related, I picked up 2 of these at CT, on sale. I think $45 each. I like the 6A power (for a battery tender), and the automatic features.

I guess I could sell my used once battery charger since I don't need it anymore. Will post in the marketplace later.
