Default muffler for my central vac

I want to quiet down my central vacuum. I was thinking about either an intake muffler or an exhaust muffler (or both).

Will adding either of these impact the suction power of the vacuum?

I have an exhaust muffler on ours. Did not notice a loss of suction. It's basically just a larger diameter PVC with some foam inside.

its a drastic reduction in noise. Ours is located in the garage, and when the vacuum is on, you can still have a conversation inside the garage. Compared to my parents with no muffler, you can hear the vacuum across the street, and not a chance you're hanging out in the garage when its on.

I picked one up from Vacuum Specialists

Ours vents (now) outside and the noise difference is negligible from the muffler. Most of it is the vacuum motor itself.
