    Default China and Singapore 2017

In case anyone is interested. I am sharing a few photos from my last trip (more photos here-> http://www.seancaffrey.com/album/china2017/).

I started my trip in Fujian province on the east coast of China to visit unique indigenous homes called Tulous. Tulous are circular buildings constructed of earth, rice, and bamboo with an interior courtyard. Some of these buildings were large enough to protect entire clans, consisting of hundreds of people, from bandit raids.

I then moved to Yangshou in Guangxi province to photograph the exquisite Karst Mountain landscape and the Li River.

My last stop in China was Guizhou province to visit the Miao and Dong ethnic minority groups.

I am not in Toronto and super busy with work and family. Not much time for photography. This trip was in September and I only now just finished organizing and captioning the photos.

how easy was it to travel around in rural China?
Zhangjiajie and Guilin are in my China bucket list one day.

I have not been to Zhangjiajie, but Guilin is really easy. The main issue in traveling in places like rural Guizhou is the lack of English. Pronunciation Mandarin correctly is difficult. However phone based translates are getting to the point where they can be very helpful.

I got lucky with the weather in Yangshou, I had been there before many years ago and it was overcast and rainy every day.
