Default Where can I buy a left handed tap and die set?

Need to fix a music box but it has to be a left handed tap and die set, right handed won't work. Amazon has some and The Home Depot US site has them but nothing in Canada. Any ideas?

I tried ordering from them 10 years ago and they refused to ship to Canada, I had to get them sent to a guy in Louisiana and then reshipped. Have they changed their policy?

yeah, probably not worth investigating further. Guess you won't get these unobtainable items.

I'd maybe try Gregg Distributors, Acklands/Grainger, Fastenal, or Calgary Fasteners and Tools. Feeling flush with cash? Snap-On and Mac will sell them to you.

Likely will not be cheap, though.

For something like a music box that is small and likely not too taxing structurally, you may be further ahead finding the size you need made out of Chinesium on eBay. Doesn't sound like you need a high quality / high $$$ tool to perform this repair.

Or, if possible, use the next size larger right-hand thread tap and change the fasteners.

Worst case scenario: use some sort of glue or epoxy, assemble as normal, and just make it into a non-serviceable music box.

You guys are missing the point here. It's literally impossible for him to find what he needs. He should give up.

Just because he keeps Obi-waning himself doesn’t mean he’ll never find the tap and die set he’s looking for.

Just find a good quality right hand set and flip it upside down. Should work for what you need

Wow, great suggestions here! I'll let him know where he can find them and report back. He's a 70 year old heavy duty mechanic, not too great with computers.
