    Default Passport photos for Newborns

I am planning to go Stateside with my newborn in the coming months...does anyone know of a place that I can get these pictures done?

    Thanks!

Wherever you go, make sure it's not a busy time. The photographer will probably need several attempts to get the shot that meets the guidelines. Babies are a pain, and toddlers are bad too. I used blacks photo in north hill, the guy there was awesome and probably took more than a dozen attempts before he was satisfied. Snacks helped us, because ours wouldn't keep her mouth closed without food in it.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

+1 for Walmart. We called around to a lot of different places (London Drugs included) and they wouldn't do them unless they were at least 2 years old.
At the time we got it for our daughter at 10 months.

wally world is the only place that will do them for a reasonable price. Our first kid, we managed to get one done at Costco, but they wouldn't do our second kid. Both kids needed passports 6 weeks after they were born.

Thanks!! I was wondering about the patience of some places to get the baby to have the acceptable passport pose

    I will try Walmart.

Blitz - best photo ever. I have some real gems of my LO that make me laugh.

Had to do one for our boy when he was 10 days old. What a nightmare.

First we went to superstore, but after about an hour, we all gave up.

Next we went to LD in beddington. Again we could not get a good shot (since he was sleeping and wouldn't stay awake), but they suggested we come in another day when their expert was in.

So we went in the next day and tried again. Luckily this time baby was a bit more awake, and their good technician was working and was able to touch it up enough to be acceptable.

All i can suggest is to call in ahead of time and try not to go at a busy time since it will take a few attempts for sure depending on how old the baby is.

It's 12 bucks for babies at the place I work. Immigration is pretty lenient on babies so that don't have to be perfect. But if the baby won't open their eyes we just ask them to come another day

Proof that they are your children? I'd much rather carry a passport for my kids than to bring along their birth certificates.

A baby that has parents that wants to travel abroad with their infant.

Also a lot of Asian families likes to give birth in US or Canada so that they obtain citizenship then fly back to Asia shortly afterwards

Travelling with newborns is easier than going with toddlers. Some parents enjoy travel and want it to be an ongoing part of their lives and not take a 5-10 year break from it. Try not to be such a judgmental asshole.

Pretty sure he wasn't saying that they shouldn't be travelling, I think he was saying they shouldn't require documentation for an infant...

We're going to be travelling when our soon-to-arrive daughter will be about 8 months old, so this thread will be useful. Probably will try to wait as long as possible before getting the passport.

I think there was a time where children didn't need their own passport and could simply be added to one of the parents' passport. Not sure when that changed, but that was definitely an easier system for parents.

it's kind of funny that these passports are good for 5 years... my son's picture was taken when he was 9 or 10 days old. he already looks way different at 4 months, wait until he's 4 and the border folks are verifying against how he looked at 10 days
