Default Costs these days to lower car, just springs

Before I call around, can anyone tell me what I should pay for labor to swap out springs, and that's the best shop? Already called Ravi's shop, they said they won't do lowering springs...

I plan to get the Eibach springs of eBay for my 09 G37X coupe... The online tutorials look doable but if it's in the low hundreds I'd prefer to pay someone.

Try giving precision alignment a call. They don't seem to mind working on lowered vehicles and are a full service shop.

Wouldn't recommend it, you will blow your stock shocks on lowering springs in a short period of time. Do shocks/struts as well

I agree that it will probably stress the shocks/struts and make them wear quicker, but I wouldn't necessarily say it would cause them to fail in a "short" period of time. I've known people to run lowering springs for years without having to replace their shocks.

Only if you use a quality coil-over or shock/strut. I ran a set of springs years ago on a civic for 80k+ kms without fail. But I've had shit ebay coil-overs fail in months.

Called Precision, they quoted just under $1000 with alignment....I don't like the car that much lol

Thinking of going small fwd with studded winters next winter anyways...

Springs and shocks are fairly easy to do.

Just springs would be a bad idea especially if you’re going significantly lower. Stiff springs will make the shocks fail pretty quickly. Not to mention it’s no extra work to do shocks and they are not very expensive.

1.5 hours per corner plus alignment is a pretty typical quote for changing springs.

Quoting spring installs is tricky. If all goes well and the bolts aren't seized your ok. If the bolts are seized you could be looking at triple the time plus new struts or bushings. Some customers don't get that, I can see shops quoting high incase things go sideways. Call Balance Auto for a quote.

I called around a bunch for the same job on a 350z, which has the same suspension as a g35 so I don't think a g37 should be too different. They were all around 400 bucks, including autodream. I ended up just doing it myself. If you have a garage, it's not that difficult at all. I don't mind helping out if you need. Still will need the alignment though

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
