    Default VGA/HDMI screen switch

Not sure if I have the terminology correct, which might be why I have issues googling a solution.

I am looking to set up a monitor in my computer room(VGA) but also have the option to select my TV in the living room(HDMI). This is a an older computer I use for the kids to mess around on but was think it would work well for netflix on the TV. I was thinking I need some kind of switch? Am I on the right track? I would like to be able to switch between both easily!

    Thanks

Hook both the TV and monitor up and just mirror the image on both in the settings on windows? That way regardless of what is being used as the monitor, you will get the same image.

I guess I could just mirror the screens, didn't think of that for some reason. Also, freshvibes I might actually need that USB adapter depending on how the back of the cpmputer is set up...... I cant recall but will confirm tomorrow.

You're hardwiring both to the comp? You could dual screen them with the same image.

    Issues with mirroring are
    a) losing mouse to another screen and going wtf
    b) some apps don't do fullscreen that well on mirrored systems

Why bother with all this...if you just want Netflix?

Get one of these and call it a day, probably cost you the same or cheaper than whatever you are planning on getting. Comes with a remote and super easy to use for kids/wife/old ppl.

I should have elaborated a bit. I actually use Kodi and find it runs better off a PC than a box.....

So conversely do the kids need an actual computer? Move the computer to the TV, have the monitor hooked up to an android box if it's mainly for web-browsing anyways?
