I ain't like the rest of 'em Beyond Honger ballers. With private drivers,
Willing to admit I’ve put my foot in mouth on this. I guess spent enough $$ on Bank of China life insurance division, the rep and I started chatting, oh u got no friends in hk, oh u single let me hook u up with a bff, oh you don’t know Hk that well let us show u around, etc.

Get a text from BOC life insurance rep, hey let’s hang. They signed out this baller corporate caravan. Except the girls don’t have license, so end up driving on the British side of the road first time in my life.

“Bank of China Group Life (insurance)” lol

I’ve said it to a Beyond customer before, I’ll say it again. RHD are so freakin weird, my wipers were going on constantly, since the wiper lever on this model was on leftside of steering colum (where our turn signals would be; but then I told local relatives about this, they said German cars in Hk have turn signal controls on left hand too; so it varies with vehicles)

Their corporate bangbus was parked at metro city (kinda the south east end of Kowloon), the girls google mapped to go to Yuen Long in the north west area of Kowloon. (I’d say similar concept of our fish creek park ish)

I was a little sketched out at first. Felt like that abandoned haunted house down at fish creek type of scene. And cause I just met this BOC rep and her bff (well the rep is a friend of a friend off fb).

They said the sign says (something similar to) bridesmaid bridge, heart rate raised a bit hoping it wasn’t that whole game girls play “kill one, marry one, fuck one”. My only self survival instinct kicked in, car keys in my pocket, if they tried anything toss the keys in the pond at least they can’t escape far.

All went well though, ended the night at this all you can eat outdoor bbq restaurant.

I’d say one of the most random hangouts ever.

When all others look into life insurance because they’re thinking about death/dying/estate planning, I contact my Bank of China life insurance Hk rep cause I wanna experience living. (In case jwslam doesn’t believe me, Rage2 can vouche my family isn’t in the financial sector whatsoever, this was absolutely a random hangout as a client)

Let alone, since it’s year of the dog, so their bank swags on product purchases should be those golden doggies. My rep was able to still local these giant golden cocks for me with my financial purchases with BOC.

*im still a very loyal TD bank customer, but just wanted these golden roosters and not wait 12 years for the next opportunity and too poor to buy real golden 99.99k ones you see on streets of Hk.

Owning a car in HK is a luxury. Even owning a third-hand car is out of typical peasant's reach. You should check out the rental cost of a parking space. It's like paying for a second mortgage.

EDIT: Just realize my family friend's RX350 is almost a $100K CDN car.

Considering owning a BRZ in HK costs over $50k CAD, yeah... Car costs are crazy there.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

Well. In hk, everything’s conservatively smaller too.

Was hanging at the clubhouse and outlook area of a relative at The Arch (element mall/Kowloon station)

But. Was texting @rage2 dai lo, he says parking stalls for rent there isn't much different than those in downtown Calgary gulf tower or what not. $4,500 hkd = $750 cdn/month (give/take). (Iunno what yyc downtown stalls are worth, still poor living in dirty south suburbs, free street parking/wood box garage )

Now, the apartment itself. Imho that's a different story. Of course 99.99% of us poor relatives that left the place all's be like "ouuuuu ahhhhh wonder what baller auntie's place is worth, let's look it up". $13,000,000-$38,000,000 hkd. $2-6 mil cdn$. For little square box, of course prime location high end bontique mall.

Personally love the projects/ government subsidize areas though. The grand's were in Choi hung estate, hung out there tons during toddler years, a 40-50 year old school projects at this point. All the oldies are dying out, and government ain't putting new applicants in, 4 level elementary school just closed down these few years. A cousin still lives there (took over his moms account); large trees, more quiet down, not much vehicle traffic entering, the hotties (20 yo's) aren't snobby/ stuck up, feels to me waiting for someone to recuse.

I guess it does vary from areas to areas in HK. Last time I checked in the 'posh' areas of HK (eg West Mid-Levels and Sheung Wan) are ranging from $5000+/month for a parking space. However, I was quite surprised that Repulse Bay was priced lower than West Mid-Levels and Sheung Wan.

Edit: I must say The Arch is a very nice building and prime location for entertainment and shopping (The Element).
