I've noticed quite a bit of ice in my eaves-trough that's preventing the melting snow from going down into the eaves-trough and subsequently into the downspout and away from the house. As a result I'm seeing some water behind the eaves-trough and more worryingly it appears to also be coming down the soffit and running down the siding of the house as shown in the picture below. I've been diligent about clearing as much snow/ice as I can and keeping the outlets of the downspouts clear but not sure what else to do. So I suppose I have two questions:
1. Should I really be worried about this or is this fairly normal considering the massive snow precipitation we've had over the last month and subsequent melting?
2. For now there doesn't appear to be any signs of the water making it's way into the house but in the event that it did would I be covered by my home insurance?
For reference all of the soffit/eaves-trough/roof etc. was new in 2015.
