    Default Anyone sell on ebay?

I am wondering about selling on ebay a bit, and curious how others have set up the shipping pricing. It seems like alot of work to set up individual shipping for each different service, for each different company , for each country that you will allow shipping to. I have only posted up a bike frame so far, and set the flat rate to $50 in Canada, but was wondering if there's an easier way for future items.

Any sellers on here have any tips? (not looking to do this for a business or anything, just to sell off random things I don't need that would be better than using kijiji for.)

Take item to post office in the box you're shipping in. Get quote.
I do flat rate shipping all the time. You get good at estimating and then typically pad it a bit for the odd time you're off.
Then only ship to US and Canada. 2 separate flat rates.

Depending on how big that bike frame is and if you're going to ship be international I don't think $50 will be enough to cover it. Recently sold a couple of odd things (Surface and a phone) to Ottawa and Netherlands and the shipping was around $80'ish for those small items. That was the second fastest method though, not sure if Xpress or Xpedited via Canadapost.

Doesn't the Canada Post website provide shipping quotes any more? They used to a few years back when I was selling on eBay a lot.

Yeah I use the Canada Post price estimator all the time. Never had a problem with it.

the small business discount is lame, 5%

I would suggest using Shippo, you can get live rates from canada post, its much more user friendly, and they get discounted rates from canada post as well... i have used it a fair amount for selling on amazon and my wesbite.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

I use secureship.ca to do the same thing. Shipments by purolator, ups, fedex, almost half price.

How does this work? I need to send it to the USA, I set a flat rate for $75. Do I get to pick the method I send it now? Frame probably weighs 10-15 lbs

I'm trying to use secure ship and when I enter the full dimensions it charges my 12 lb package, as a 89 lb package. If i leave the dimensions blank and go by weight only it's wayyy cheaper. Not sure if this will work or not

For you guys who ship alot across Canada, who are you using for shipping?

I was looking more into ebay, and they take $98 on a $1000 sale, so I'd have to mark anything I want to sell up to make up for that?

I have never bought or sold a single thing on ebay, I pretty much forgot it existed.

Secureship is basically just a middleman that gets business rate quotes from all the major shippers. Because they are a single company, they kind of act as a huge middleman who gets big discounts. You are basically using their account. I ship tons of stuff to the USA using them for my business. A+ service, zero issues.

(I realize this is old, but just answering for posterity)

I enter everything, weight and dimensions. They give a good enough deal as it is, and by the contract they WILL charge you for overages.

I'm still using secureship. You basically go online, enter your info, they give you quotes from all the major shippers, you select the one you want with the timeline you want, and then you print out their shipping documents and attach to your packages. Then you either schedule pickup or drop the package off yourself. Pay with CC through their portal. Super easy, super straightforward, saving close to 50% compared to just going through the services normally.

UPS told me to get a business account, I did, and the savings still weren't as good as secureship
