Burelli said in an interview Tuesday that the Feb. 6 letter from Quebec deputy minister Patrick Beauchesne reflects a “racism of intelligence. It is saying we think there is a form of intelligence that is superior, that of science. They are methods developed by the West and so they must take precedence over Indigenous knowledge.”
What. In. The. Actual. Fuck?
Yes, there is a form of intelligence that is superior, its based on facts and backed by the scientific method. Good lord
I personally think the natives in America (especially the ones South of the Equator) had too low of human population densities to achieve much. It wasn't necessarily anything wrong with the culture or intelligence.
But it definitely did not help that they left Asia without carrying a lot of knowledge with them. Arguably 20,000 years ago they colonized America without the single most important early discovery of mankind - agricultural farming. That alone put them at a several thousand year disadvantage because they never had the ability to create mass societies of specialization.
