    Woohoo!

Is Nenshi's ego going to let him put a stop to the process?

Isn't the plebiscite non-binding anyways? Nenshi could still do some grandstanding to try and push the bid through.

I was under the impression provincial and federal funding were contingent on a yes vote

I'm surprised the voter turnout wasn't higher. Probably fuel for "this plebiscite didn't truly represent the majority" bullshit.

I highly highly doubt that if something occurred and we did host 2026, the provincial and federal would walk away and say 'too bad'

Happy to see the NO vote winning out. Not to proud to admit that the results were a lot closer than I thought. I figured the NO side would have been closer to 70%

    Good work fellas!

It was a bit concerning to see it that close but you’ve gotta remember that there was even international students voting on this shit because they were eligible.

    Lol that's what you want,

" My supporters didn't show up but I swear they want it!"

I'm happy people came to their senses.

I was No for a long time, when I was at the voting station I went to a Yes, if you think about what the '88 Olympics did for Calgary not only locally but on a world stage, I honestly don't think Calgary wouldn't be nearly the same as it is today

That’s impressive 300k votes! How many ppl voted in the election? Lol

Let the Olympics die. There’s no shortage of reasons why cities don’t bid anymore.

So can we work on the new arena instead now.
