Default Italian Village Records 58,000 Infractions In 2 Weeks

    This is just amazing

And after just two weeks, Acquetico's cameras have caught more than 58,000 speeding incidents, according to Italian media. That's a hefty number for a community of about 120 residents.

Well it is Italy where majority of the supercars are built. If you put a stupid speed limit on a road that's also a highway in a way, I guess this is somewhat expected.

"We hope that these speed gauges can be an effective deterrent to motorists and that they can benefit the citizens of Acquetico, because you do not want to make cash with the fines, but it is necessary to protect people's safety,"
the mayor told the news agency, according to BBC.

It's funny to think about how backwards we have it on this side of the world. Money money money, who cares about safety.

Our politicians say the same thing here too.

58,000 seems low for anywhere in Italy.

I honestly was expecting to open it to see where my family lives because this is sooo true. Of course that is the south and no one really cares that much.

I hear south Italy is on a whole other level compared to the rest of Italy in terms of giving a fuck about anything!

~20,000 minutes in 14 days....... and 58,000 tickets ....and the article states only about 1/2 the cars were speeding.

That means the road gets ~120,000 cars in 2 weeks, or ~6 cars a second (in one lane), based on a 24 hr average.

No way those numbers are right.

Matt, if you're still planning to drive from Nice to Cinque Terre, you could probably do a quick detour and see if you can beat their high score of 135kmh

Yeah I have had this name on other forums for a while now. “Vai a” just doesn’t sound right for a username at the beginning

Also, yes, southern Italy is super chill, espdcially the small towns.
