Beauty! I hope this plus the dishonesty in Olympic costs seals Druh and Nenshi's fate.

What's to cost of the signage change? Gotta be a few million and Nenshi will cram it down our throats that the old signs are being recycled and repurposed to other cities to offset the cost.
I think we need civil servants on every corner for the first year to ensure pedestrians get educated on this lower speed and probably need to get more multinova vans to enforce the new limit.

Guess you guys will just need to get little T15 turbo's for your 0-50km/h pulls.
The amount I saw and was told by my councillor is five million. The city just has all this excess money to throw around on useless items.

Amazing benefits of the lower speed limits: More time between bus stops reducing the efficiency of transit, every single trip is going to take longer through any residential areas not just commuting, increased pollution due to these longer trips. Just to name a few.

This is terrible, how come they can't add it to the ballot on the Olympic plebiscite? Nobody wants this

First one was run over twice, second one was backing up, 3rd was near crosswalk at night, 4th was the poor little girl in bowness where truck was stopped then drove into her from a stop, last was the backing up one. The 3rd, I couldn’t find any information on speed, aside from speed was not a factor from police.
I want to post this on our community facebook page where all the soccer moms are in full support of locking up every speeder that goes over 30 in the neighborhood.

Or just continue to speed like most people already do. No reason to change your current level of adherence.

The best part about having an exhaust system is all the middle fingers and nimbys yelling at you to slow down when your doing 30.

Oh your telling me. My vintage Datsun will be in 1st gear crawling up the hill at 4500RPM. Let's see how they like it then. 2nd gear won't work, it'll die on me.

I'm just getting the laughing out of the way now, because I'm sure this shit will travel north sooner rather than later.

In before Jaywalking goes through the roof and there needs to be a study and implementation of chainlink along all sidewalks.

I got a jaywalking ticket last week for crossing 7th Ave after the c trains passed but before the signal changed. Like I do every single day. The cops were literally hiding in the bushes in the park at the 3rd St West station.

Oh that's why people are getting tickets by the CTrain. I thought it was smoking on platform. Good to know.

Maybe I'm missing something here but it looks like they voted to basically send it to a study. I don't see anywhere that says it's a "go" in any way until at least next year where they have to again vote.
