I said I wasn’t speeding and she flashed her badge and said “32 years of enforcing says otherwise”

Don’t want no trouble lol just delivering Ching Chong food. I fkn went to the wrong house for starters too and lady owner thought I was breaking in haha so I explained myself.

Anyway, learn something new everyday. She was in one of those massive 8 seater white gmc suburban suvs and newer maybe 2016-2018? Model

Driving in Victoria/Vancouver right now, and here is your future Calgary, at least in the core:30kph limits, 2 lane roads closed down to one for bike lanes/flower pots/bullshit, entire roads blocked off for picnic tables and flower pots, no available street parking unless you circle the block for 15 minutes. Public transit is no better than it was 30 years ago, except Victoria has free bikes ditched all over randomly, which if you are single and have no friends is semi useful. The end result is I think a lot of people say fuck going anywhere farther then a handful of blocks away in the core.

I'm not sure specifically why the government wants to limit mobility, but I know it's one way of controlling people by limiting their movement.
I always found Victoria was awesome to get around in, specifically because I never drove anywhere. I rode my bike everywhere there. Why wouldn’t you, the city is practically built for it?

I hardly drive in Toronto either. I walk everywhere and take transit when I go downtown. Parking is a cunt, and driving is slow as hell in the city. Trains and subways are great. Even the streetcar is fine, because while it’s slow, I’m not driving it. So I don’t care. Half hour from my house, I’m at a Blue Jays game.

What car are you driving Boost? You should know that delivery drivers need to stick to low key vehicles to avoid these kinds of issues!

Doesn't surprise me that she is driving the mother of all power trip vehicles, haha

Did you get a name and badge number? If they are going to flash it at you, they are pretty much obligated to tell you. You'd be surprised how quickly people calm down once they realize they crossed a line and might be held accountable for it.
    Just my little Golf.

Angry lady and ain't nobody got time for that!

I had to stop this morning to let two ducks cross the road, on a cross walk. Is this real?

lol, sounds like the community pace car program.
If I still had a fast car, I'd have to steal one of those and add a diagonal line to the 'P'

Why would they yell at you for going that speed on 5th, the limit is 50 isn't it?

Not only that, in order to hit the lights correctly, you have to be doing at least 60
If you drive at high RPM, they assume you are going fast. Ran into this many times when I had a faster car. Always amusing.

Probably because I was in the Corvette and assumed the Subaru ahead of me that took off was my car making noise.

Yea, noise makes people go nuts. I launched a Tesla in insane mode on a residential street for 1/2 a block, slowed down, and cyclists waved nicely at me because I'm saving the world haha.

I was doing 50 in a 50 in my old red 540i on a backroad by bearspaw (no houses on it, they were a couple hundred feet back from the road) and some old guy walking the road yelled "SLOW DOWN ASSHOLE" at the top of his lungs. I fucking 4 wheel skidded to a stop, threw it in reverse and backed up aggressively and stopped next to him.

    "I was doing fifty, sir."
He seemed kinda rattled that I stopped and had something to say about it. "Well, it seemed kinda loud for 50"
"I don't see a radar gun in your hands."
    And I drove off.

Feels good to call them on their shit sometimes.

I've had a neighbor shoot water at me back in my SLK days in Varsity even though I was driving under the speed limit. Yea, freshly detailed car, top down, I was not happy. Stopped the car, confronted the guy, grabbed his hose and drenched him. Always gave me a dirty look whenever I saw him again before I moved, but at least he never sprayed me again.

32 years of enforcing? Was she 32 years old ?

In a case like that, break out your video camera and start recording and asking questions like their reg number - then call it in to 911 as impersonation is a serious crime and the CPS will be out there quick.

Phase 1 was school zone to playground zone. Phase 2 will be 30km/h unless otherwise posted. Can’t wait.

Last thing we need is to give this city council more powers.
I'd like to see 0km/h speed limits. That will put a huge dent in the amount of accidents. 30 just won't be enough I'm afraid :\

If you drive in reverse it may bring back lives.

So as a conservative you're against the decentralization of government power and therefore supporting more NDP oversight in municipal affairs?
