Wasnt there a comparison between calgary and edmonton that showed the benefits of flouride?
From the mouth of Duh herself:
Councillor Farrell has long stressed the critical need for Alberta to do better on dental health, especially for children and low-income families. Unfortunately, tooth decay in children is increasing across North America, including in cities that fluoridate. Our nearest comparison is Edmonton, where dental decay is worsening despite continued water fluoridation. Dental decay rates in Edmonton were worse than in Calgary when both cities fluoridated and are still worse than in Calgary despite Calgary ending fluoridation. Fluoride is simply no silver bullet. Druh will continue to stress that access to affordable dental care is the most critical factor in supporting healthy teeth and gums. She also recognizes that the Government of Alberta needs to step up and take dental health far more seriously. The Province is responsible for health and dental health is essential for overall health.

I agree with Druh for potentially the first time ever. Dental health is a critical component of overall health and we can't really claim to have "universal health care" when dental health is not included.

Well I mean you shouldn't compare the overall health rates between the two. Only how they've changed since calgary stopped adding flouride. Obviously calgary will have be better overall, breathing with your mouth open is bad for your teeth and we all know edmonton is full of mouth breathers

So now I can drive 140 on the highway and not risk tickets?

Alberta's better learn to merge first... entering a 120km/h highway at 85-90km/h is a recipe for disaster

Driving in Victoria/Vancouver right now, and here is your future Calgary, at least in the core:30kph limits, 2 lane roads closed down to one for bike lanes/flower pots/bullshit, entire roads blocked off for picnic tables and flower pots, no available street parking unless you circle the block for 15 minutes. Public transit is no better than it was 30 years ago, except Victoria has free bikes ditched all over randomly, which if you are single and have no friends is semi useful. The end result is I think a lot of people say fuck going anywhere farther then a handful of blocks away in the core.

I'm not sure specifically why the government wants to limit mobility, but I know it's one way of controlling people by limiting their movement.
This is something I find so strange, these progressive politicians look at Europe and try to replicate every single thing over here in Canada, but it just doesn't make sense. Canada is frickin huge and it's like we have an identity crisis we want to pretend we are a tiny european country. I say built out not up, start cities and towns instead of adding population to our current few over populated cities, and raise the dang speed limits

I don't need formal training to be in control of a 4000lb object. It's my god damn right! It's your problem if you want to drive at the speed limit. I am free to merge at any slow speed I feel comfortable with, it's your job to cater to me because my blinker is on.
