Wow. It's amazing only half of them died. Driven through that corner 1000's of times growing up, it's on the way to the little ski hill I grew up riding on.

These make it look very much like the charter bus tboned the semi truck. Front end is totally missing. Truck cab isn't damaged.

Except that traveling westbound on Highway 3 3 5 requires you cross the main Highway 35, as that is the one that runs north and south. There is no way that team bus would have been on the 335, it's just not how you would get there from Humboldt.

My guess is the semi pulled out in front of the bus and the bus hit the trailer at full force.

I'm not saying it was. Just the nature of the impact. Previous to the pictures I was thinking it was the bus that got hit from the side.

Looks to me from the pics that the truck blew through the stop sign and t-boned the bus near the front. They spun and ended up more less where both momentum would carry them. The front of the bus likely got sheared off, and the rest cut off by the first responders. That's my layman view of things anyway.

No in get it, just explaining before the conversation got taken off in that direction by someone else.

Regardless of the cause, still a tragedy. I can't even imagine the guilt of anyone who survived. Even as a news reader I can't help but think of the what-ifs to prevent this. Bad luck played a huge part in this, even if a stop sign was run.

Most rural intersections are actually terrifying. You're going at 110km/h+ and you see someone perpendicular approaching the intersection. I've gotten in the habit of taking my foot off the gas, hovering the brake pedal and waiting for them to gun it to "beat traffic" when I'm the only fucking person on the road. Word to wise, if you see someone (no how big or small of vehicle) approaching, assume they won't stop because honestly it's about 50/50 in my experience -- seriously, it could save your life.

A friend of mine T-boned someone in the middle of no-where under the same circumstances but fortunately survived and only needed physio to recover. The person who ran the stop sign died.

This bus accident is a fucking tragedy. Feel gutted.

Same. Look where the front axle of the bus is, and the way the side is peeled away near the front. This wouldn't happen if the bus was going fast and the truck wasn't - it'd be the opposite. Again, my layman view.

Yes, that is awesome. TSN said support higher than expected which is great! Don't want to get sappy but accidents can happen at any time. Appreciate our loved ones, friends, and may be even some co workers!

Myself and the staff of GoFundMe is now in direct contact with the vice president of the Humboldt Broncos, and plans are underway to move money raised. I'll continue to update you all here as this progresses.
Sounds like its beeing handled well.
