Question Changing a water pump on a Mitsubishi Lancer (4G69)

    Hey guys,
anyone know if the water pump can be removed without pulling the timing belt off? I know the belt covers need to be removed, but I'm hoping the timing belt doesn't have to be messed with. Yah, I was one of those idiots that didn't change the water pump with the TB.

Oddish setup on Mitsus, the water pump is not run by the timing belt but the accessory serpentine belt. You'd think they would make it so the pump could be pulled easily with out having to go anywhere near the timing belt.

    thanks.

from what i can see the tensioner needs to come out to pull the pump. if you're planning on doing it yourself, its pretty easy as long as you match all the timing marks up.
