    Default Building a home

    Hey everyone,

If i buy a land on an acreage, how much does it cost to build a home? I'm not thinking about a custom builder, but builders like NuVista, Augusta, Albi etc. Someone told me you're looking at anywhere between $150-$250 a sqft.

    Thanks everyone :-)

It basically IS custom if it's being built outside of existing developments. No economy of scale out there, expect to pay significantly more than the same home on a city lot.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

I think 220/sqft would be the starting point for decent specs, some people go up to as high at 600-700 in real luxury homes.

    Who's the builder?

Jlau is correct, 220 a foot is an ok starting point, dont think you would need to go over 350 ..Unless lot grading requires a ton of work
